Atlantic Cup Newport Memorial Day Weekend Event!

Atlantic cup Sailing
The busy season is upon us, and we are all gearing up for Memorial Day weekend.  Newport is renowned for its prestigious sailing community and we are so proud to host the 3rd leg of the 2014 Atlantic Cup Sailing Championship.  Enjoy the fresh ocean breeze, a freshly packed picnic, local concessions and the glorious view as boats cruise across Narragansett Bay with hopes of winning the Atlantic Cup grand prize.   Situated at the mouth of the Newport Harbor is Fort Adams, where you can experience a small piece of Newport’s History while enjoying panoramic views of the east passage of Narragansett Bay.   This Memorial Day weekend, Newport is the largest and only dedicated class 40 race in the United States, the 2014 Atlantic Cup.   Heading out from the Ivy Lodge to Newport’s scenic Ocean Drive, one could witness a showcase of nautical tactics and athleticism from these sailing crews--a must see for all ages to enjoy with many things to do both on and off the shore.
