The original designer, John Greatorex planned the original garden for the Arthur Curtis James estate, beacon hill house. The Newport Flower Show opens Friday June 24th. Landscape designer Catherine Weaver of Tupelo Gardenworks inWakefield has re-created theBlueGarden for the lawn of Rosecliff. Her design will be complemented by a series of garden vignettes created by members of the Rhode Island Nursery & Landscape association.
Inside the flower show, featured speakers will include Kevin Ylvishaker, a floral trend consultant with more than 35 years experience in the floral industry. He was a member of the design teams for the inauguration of presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton.
The queen of cake Sylvia weistock is scheduled to speak and sign books at the show. For 35 years she has been producing cakes for the world’s most exclusive clients and parties. She will share how she integrates flowers into her cake art and her love of entertaining.
The show is scheduled to open fireday, june 24th from 10:30a.m. to 5p..m and Saturday and Sunday 25 and 26 9AM to 5pm.. Throughout the events, experts will offer seminars on gardening and design. As always, shopping at the Oceanside Boutiques and the Garden Marketplace are a much anticipatedNewport tradition.
